New Understanding Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder course

13/08/2021 16:25:51

Exciting news! The team at Parramatta office have been busy working with tutors to prepare the new Understanding Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) course for schools. This course looks at the impact ADHD can have on a student’s life and shows how the classroom and teaching practice can be made more inclusive for these students. It explains the needs of students with ADHD and how to develop a range of strategies to improve learning outcomes.

39 experienced tutors from across the state recently attended training and have committed to rolling out a cohort this year. They provided excellent feedback for the team regarding the course and the resources for participants and tutors.

Some feedback from those who attended the recent training includes:

The course has been informative and highlighted a number of things we take for granted. It has also given information on things that were quite unknown.

I am looking forward to delivering [the course] to my colleagues. I am sure it is going to prove to be a very popular course.

Great for new and experienced teachers.

Stay tuned on MyPL, Staff Noticeboard and from your friendly local OLT team to find out when it is available in your area!

Term 2 2021 Update

25/06/2021 10:53:07

Wow! What a busy term for us all.

The Online Learning tutors have been extremely busy running courses across NSW. Remote delivery has meant many more NSW Department of Education staff in rural and remote areas have been able to access the courses.

The Adjusted Learning team have attended several tutor network meetings organised by our local area contacts. The meetings are great opportunities to share new information and discuss what is happening in local areas. We appreciate the opportunity to meet with our tutors and discuss ideas and challenges. We thank local contacts for organising the meetings and tutors for attending and we look forward to meeting with more of you next term. When you are planning a network meeting, please let us know how we can tailor the discussion to meet local needs.

Four tutor training sessions were held for new tutors and tutors refreshing their training. The sessions were very well received and we welcome the new tutors to our team.It is great to have them on board to deliver the Online Learning courses.

We wish all of you about to have a break a very relaxing time. Stay warm and stay safe!
